This year is sure the be the best one yet so be sure to DRESS YOUR BEST!

As always, it is for a good cause!

All of the money raised goes directly to the Nevada Diabetes Association where it supports Camp Buck; a summer camp for kids with Type 1 to make connections and learn how to live a healthy life with a disease for which there is no cure.

“This year’s prom is dedicated to Miss Marcia - the most important woman in my life who always advocated for me and quite literally saved my life. I will forever be grateful and indebted to her and I wish only to carry on her tradition of service to the most vulnerable in our community."
At the young age of 10, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. As a little girl in dance class, it was Miss Marcia who recognized the warning signs and advocated for me to seek immediate medical care. If it wasn’t for her being so aware, caring, and persistent my diagnosis story would have been far more tragic and traumatic.

And she didn’t stop there. Miss Marcia is the reason I attended Camp Buck just a few months after my diagnosis. Once there, I discovered I wasn’t alone. Her support continued until the day she passed. In a life filled with challenges, Marcia never ceased being my support, my cheerleader, and the most meaningful role model in my life.

It is not an exaggeration to say that I owe my life to this wonderful woman.

I can think of no better way to honor Marcia’s legacy than to raise money so that other kids can receive the all-important support that I found in Camp Buck. This is the 7th time we've put on this prom and the very first time that Miss Marcia won’t be attending. I hope you can join me in celebrating her memory and continuing her legacy of service.
